There are a number of different car parking options that are available to people travelling from the new Terminal 2 at Dublin Airport. Along with the the official airport car parks, including the red and blue car parks, there are a number of off-site, privately owned parking operators. Most of these are located within a few minutes of the terminal building itself and are a good option for the budget traveller. With varying features, there is certainly something there to suit everyone’s needs. A number of these are operated by airport hotels, such as Bewley’s, the Crowne Plaza, the Carlton, the Premier Inn and Metro Hotel (formerly known as Days Hotel). Quickpark is another off airport car park.
In addition, holidaymakers travelling through Dublin airport can make use of ‘Meet and Greet’ or valet parking services. SwiftPark is one such operator at Dublin airport. The service includes being met by a driver at the airport, allowing for a quick departure, proceeding directly into the terminal building without having to park up and get a transfer shuttle bus. The client’s car would then be brought to a secure car park which is located within a mile of the airport. On the client’s return, the valet parking driver brings the car to the airport, allowing customers to begin their journey home without delay.
Each car park operator offers a slightly different service, whether that be a 24-hour shuttle bus, or underground parking, so it is best to fully investigate what is offered before booking car parking. It is definitely worth looking around and especially pre-booking, as rates can vary on a 2 week booking by as much as half price! More information can be found at Airport Parking Site Ireland.
